First Post

Ok so I have been given the task of writing a bit of a diary entry for this lush new webpage, and I guess it is long overdue. I have had the most strange week.. and it all started so ordinarily…

So it was a fresh start to the week, with the hand in of my dissertation looming on monday I was up early and got it bound and handed in pretty painlessly. I have officially finished my MA!

I figured the week would be mildly entertaining, I had a gig planned with my main man Simon Dann on friday, but before this I was taken on a bit of a journey. Wednesday felt like a fresh start, I woke up early and, before I knew it, was packing a bag….what do you pack when you don’t know where you are going? I went with two t shirts, a hoodie and some toothpaste…

Two hours later I stepped off the train onto the echoy cave that is London Euston. With no reason to be there, no reason to get back and nothing but a desire to piss some people off. I started almost immediatly, As I left the station I promptly asked a young man ‘Which way is London mate’… to my amazement he actually fucking pointed and said ‘about ten minutes that way son’…what a complete tool!

London was always a place I found to be tense and highly anxiety provoking, however, go with a ‘could care less’ attitude and you end up feeling starangely more welcomed. I met some strange faces along the way, a special mention must go to a guy called William I ran into in Camden. I was twice accosted by him; a fell Straight Edge guy who basically wanted to marry me because I was spotted wearing a Converge T shirt. He was flyering a rock club…if anyone knows this guy please ask him to get in touch; he would be comedy gold for future videos..

I guess, in the past I have felt as though nobody is ‘from London’ if that makes sense… but on this short visit, spending late night on the underground and crossing the road from the Travellodge in my PJ’s to buy Pears in the middle of the night from M & S..I got to see anotherside of the city, and strangely, anotherside of myself…

Oh yea, and then..after that I went to a gig, realised how much I missed someone and now am looking for love yet again… But thats a different story, for a different day…in the meantime here is a picture of an angry Black man..

Take care, JOEy*
